Big Bucks began in 2024 but its history goes back to 1940. Big Bucks carries two legendary bucking horse bloodlines, bred to buck from two different families in two different rodeo circuits!
The Mosbrucker Rodeo Company dates back to 1968 when the late Jim Mosbrucker developed a passion for rodeo and became a pick up man. He got voted pick-up man of the year many times. In 1978 Jim, his wife Marge, and their four children started their own stock contracting company that still continues today, run by Kelly and Wally Mosbrucker. The family has had stock nominated and competing at the Wrangler National Finals over the years.
Cody Flitton partnered with Jody Burnside, to purchase the Mosbrucker Pro Rodeo Company. They are continuing to work alongside Kelly and Wally Mosbrucker to continue America’s favorite sport.
The Burnside family, with four generations of PRCA competitors, have competed in bull riding, steer wrestling, team roping, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, and calf roping. Jody and his son Cache Burnside, are experienced in the rodeo industry in many ways and are great assets to the partnership.
Cody Flitton’s great grandfather, D.A. Swanny Kerby wrangled wild horses from the slick rocks of Moab, UT. Swanny had a dream of putting on wild west shows. He became part of the PRCA in 1940 with his bred to buck horses and bulls. Bud Kerby worked with his dad from an early age, competed in the sport as a saddle bronc rider and worked as a pickup man for many years. Bud raised many horses that competed at the WNFR. The Kerby’s has had stock at the NFR since 1959. Cody Flitton was born and raised into the Kerby rodeo company and worked his whole life at it, until 2022 as a ranch manager, pick up man and stock contractor.
With the blood lines of Mosbrucker’s award winning horses and the Kerby blood lines of two Remuda Awards, the Big Bucks Pro Rodeo Company proudly carries and honors these two legendary families and their bred to buck livestock. Big Bucks Professional Rodeo Company’s motto is “we don’t have big bucks so we make them,” referring to our big bucking horses and bulls. We have big hearts and ambitions as wild as our livestock. Two families started it separately; Mosbruckers and Kerbys. And now two families; Flitton and Burnside, continue to raise legends together; Big Bucks Pro Rodeo Company.
